A dad approaches his son and says, "I was talking to so and so and he
said his kid was kind of interested in going to the youth group that you go to on monday nights"

The kid responds, "ah dad, he doesn't hang out with us, we're not really friends."

To which the father responds, "well think about it"

The son goes to drivers ed. class and comes home to his dad and says "You'll never guess who i sat next to and talked for 3 hours tonight, the kid you were telling me about the other day"

"Hmm… did you talk about monday nights with him?" the dad says with a little smirk…

"Yeah, i think he's gonna come"

"hmmm" the dad says with a little bigger smirk…Last night the 2 kids showed up together after school and then the new kid was leaving I yelled out thanks for coming, his response…

"see you next monday!!!"

Carpet is being installed as i write this!  And the bathroom plumbing was completed yesterday…  I posted some pics. Later tonight I will post more of the completed carpeting.  Zach helped me get the last touchups on the paint late last night and cleanup was a bit dusty.

Tomorrow, my great friend in life is headed to Paris to start a 6 month program to finish her MBA that she is in progress at the Carlson School of Management.

So to log her journy, we set up a blog and are in the process of tuning the design, but thought I would link to it here and on my right menus.

I was asked to write a letter of recommendation for a guy I have walked
with for his whole HS career, 9th grade until now…

The thoughts that came out of this were.

• excited
• surprised
• dated,
  makes me feel older than 25
• nervous about writing the right things
• pressure since its the 1st one I have written
• powerful, given the authority to write anything
• appreciated

The application is for Wheaton College, and they need a pastor/youth leader to give a reccommendation, I guess thats me! I am proud to be selected to do this for him.

I'm sitting here in the Denver airport listening to music. Crowder is playing and I am getting teary eyed thinking about the words "letting myself go". And "you are my joy!" being repeated over and over. Imagining God screaming it out to me louder than I can scream it to him!

This song used to only give me the chills. Now its tears…

I am reading "running on empty" about solitude and I am in solitude by the baggage claim due to NWA being late as usual.

My senses are a little fired up now. In my stillness he will heal and continue to scream out "Ethan, you are my joy and always have and always will be!!"

That's all a guy needs right now.
